Last updated 2026-08-05. This is a comparison site, not a SaaS product — there are no user accounts, and the data footprint is deliberately small.
1. Who we are
CompareTheStack (comparethestack.com) is operated by Dimva LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 16068163), registered office at 3 Broadway, Loughborough, LE11 2JD, United Kingdom. Dimva LTD is the data controller for this site — ICO registration ZC173880.
2. What we collect
- Contact form submissions — name, email address, company (optional), and whatever you write in the message. Used only to respond to you.
- Standard web server / CDN logs — via Cloudflare, the network this site runs behind: IP address, browser user-agent, requested page, timestamp. Standard operational logging, not tied to an identity.
- Affiliate click tracking — when affiliate links go live (see how we make money), clicking one passes a tracking parameter to the provider so we're credited for the referral. That exchange is between your browser and the provider's own site; we don't receive anything back about what you did there.
There is currently no analytics or advertising tracking installed on this site. If that changes, this page and the cookies page will be updated first.
3. Why we process it, and the legal basis
Contact form data: processed to respond to your enquiry (legitimate interest). Server/CDN logs: processed for security and reliability of the service (legitimate interest). Neither is used for profiling or sold to third parties.
4. Who we share it with
Cloudflare (CDN, DDoS protection, and the tunnel this site is served through) sees standard request metadata as a processor, not a controller of your data. We don't sell or rent contact data to anyone. If an affiliate network or email provider is added to handle contact form delivery, it will be listed here.
5. How long we keep it
Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry, then deleted. Server/CDN logs follow Cloudflare's standard operational retention, not ours to extend.
6. International transfers
Cloudflare operates a global network; data may be processed outside the UK/EEA as part of standard CDN routing, under Cloudflare's own standard contractual safeguards.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you (in practice: whatever you sent via the contact form). Email us via the contact page to exercise any of these. You can also complain to the ICO if you think we've mishandled your data.
